A faucet that discharges warm “udon soup stock” is back at Takamatsu Airport after a three-year absence

Japan News

We’re delighted to share that the udon soup stock faucet at Takamatsu Airport has been restored after being suspended for about three years due to the Corona disaster. It’s already been well received, especially with Golden Week coming up and more airport users expected.

You can find the faucet in the corner of “Sora no Eki Kagawa,” an exhibition corner featuring Kagawa Prefecture’s products on the second floor. Although it was suspended in March 2020, it reopened on the 20th of this month.

According to Takamatsu Airport, the faucet was installed in July 2010, and had served more than 20,000 liters of broth made by Sanuki Mengyo, which operates udon restaurants in and outside of the prefecture, before the suspension.

The soup is served daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but many days it runs out before the end of the day. The person in charge says, “We hope that visitors can make it a memorable experience during their sightseeing trip.”
